Our Story
Old City Threats was a journey long before it became a brand.
That journey began on the stone streets of Istanbul. At a very young age, trying to sell jewelry made from stones I didn’t even know the names of, standing behind a small street stall… In the crowds of Eminönü, under the shadow of the Grand Bazaar, surrounded by the scent of history mixed with the sea. The Old City taught me something early on: surviving in the city was never easy.
Setting up a stall in Istanbul was hard. Making sales was even harder. Competition was ruthless; the streets were raw and unfiltered. Dozens of people sold similar things, and most days the struggle wasn’t just about selling it was about being allowed to exist. I learned what it meant to be threatened daily, to defend your place, and to keep creating under constant, invisible pressure.
The name Old City Threats comes directly from this reality. It is not a romantic memory of the past, but a reminder of how difficult it is to survive, sell, and protect your space in the Old City. “Threats” is not meant to intimidate it exists to tell the truth.
Growing up in Istanbul teaches you how to walk with the past. How to stay strong. How to protect your essence while everything around you changes. Years later, that same spirit was reshaped in another city: New York.
New York is where dreams are tested. It is fast, hard, and unapologetically real. A city where you must prove who you are and carve out your own space. Here, style is not decoration it is a message.
Old City Threats was born at the intersection of these two worlds.
On one side, the quiet wisdom of civilizations thousands of years old. On the other, the defiant street energy of the modern world. Our designs respect the past but refuse to live in nostalgia. They belong to today, without being temporary. They look toward the future without denying their roots.
We don’t see fashion as something you simply wear. Fashion is a way of declaring who you are without forgetting where you come from.
Old City Threats is for those who don’t fit into molds, who choose their own path, and who carry their identity without fear. Everyone who visits our site or wears one of our pieces touches more than a product they connect with a real story carried from Istanbul to New York.
This story continues the moment you touch it.
